Firelings & Winds of change

While working on Transpersonal landscapes in the period from 2015 to 2017, as a side project, I made these two series of acrylic paintings on hand-worked wood.

The Firelings series (2016) is dominated by a single tone and the whole atmosphere of the image is warm, albeit restless and turbulent, consisting of depictions of fire, burning and sparks, while in the Winds of change series (2017) surfaces of different colors and textures overlap and intertwine in abstract interlace of an automatic drawing, later shape-shifting into forms on which petals of surfaces are growing one onto other in layering akin to the growth of an onion, or a rose, distantly referencing these widely recognizable biomorph patterns.
